It’s a little late to write about the Superbowl, but I thought I’d let you know that my avid sports fan husband, went to great lengths to watch the Superbowl in Africa. It was a little tricky but it all fell together in the end. We got permission to use the church youth room, had to locate a cable “decoder” to get the actual station, but the trickiest part was getting our whole team and friends come watch the Superbowl from 2 A.M. till 5 A.M. We thought the crowd would be thin, but surprisingly we had many guests and packed out the youth room. Of course a Superbowl is not complete without chili, chips and dip so we had to follow in tradition. So there we were, 3 A.M., eating chili, watching the Colts and Bears in AFRICA! It was a great dose of America and a challenge trying to stay up all night again. We haven’t done that in years! Great job Chris for bringing a small taste of America to South Africa!
