So our friends Jumbo and his wife Creek left on Sunday morning, and even though their visit was much too short, we are really looking forward to seeing them again soon.

We went to a church called Deo Doxa twice on Sunday, once in the morning and once in the evening.  The morning service is in Afrikaans, and so, save for a couple of English praise songs that we knew, either stumbled through words or had to listen to a headset that was translating the goings-on into English for us and others who needed the help.  The service was pretty cool in the morning, but even better at night.  While the earlier service was a little more “formal” in its execution (and we use that term VERY loosely), the later one was much more laid-back with a much younger crowd.  Freddy, the pastor, charged all of us to be prophets in Jeffrey’s Bay.  He also told us that “Jeffreysbaai” means “healing waters,” which is so cool to think about.  His challenge for us to bring back the healing waters to this town was followed by time for us to respond with concurrent prophecies over J-Bay, with us all lifting our voices.  The Lord was so powerful for all of us in that place, and He spoke to and through the two of us in ways that were incredibly exciting.

In other news, the citizens of Jeffrey’s have something else to watch out for as they run their errands and go from place to place.  Chris is trying to learn to drive the kombi (pronounced “com-bee”), which not only requires learning how to drive on the other side of the road, but also figuring out how to drive a standard transmission!  Watch out, people of Jeffrey’s, and take cover!

We would covet your continued prayers as our team prepares to come here on Friday.  They’ve updated a couple of times since we left and it sounds like they’re doing really well.  So praise God for that, and for what He will continue to do in them and through them over the next few days.

  1. Howdy friends… Thrilled that you made it safely… (you can always buy new bags :-))… Nothing overly “spiritual” to say other than I am grateful for your ministry… Please send pictures of Pumping J-Bay…

  2. We have not forgotten about you! You have both been in our prayers and we enjoy reading the updates. Peter and Austin are doing really well this year, hard at work in school, football for Austin, Peter in Plays and music and both still involved in Youth and Church. I am now working more then full time and am commited to the MSF kids. Larry continues to be our rock…We are thrilled God is working in you both and through to touch so many lives. We love and missyou…The King Family
